A fresh and antiseptic soap useful to help guard against infection and to repel insects. This makes it a perfect soap to take camping. It is also useful when the mozzies or midges are out, or when children have cuts or sores on their skin. Midgie Magic (formerly Sandfly Salve) was designed many years ago to help newcomers to Broome cope with biting midges and other insects. This cream is to put on after you have been bitten, as subsequent swelling, itching and infection following bites is the main problem. The cream helps to soothe, reduce the itch, disinfect and help bites with natural anti-inflammatory ingredients. Works also on bee stings and even, so we are told, on Scottish midgies!

A handy travel pack containing the basics for tropical insect survival, all hand made with care from natural ingredients. Think of Healing Cream as an all purpose safe first aid cream for most skin problems - a herbal antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and healing cream for topical application to sores, bites, burns, stings, rashes, boils, cracked skin, eczema etc. Many people with eczema have found it useful as a harmless maintenance cream to keep skin moist and eczema at bay, reserving their use of cortisone creams for times when the eczema is really nasty.

It is also a restorative heavy duty hand cream for people who work with their hands (use at night as the cream is heavy, almost like an ointment). For instance, around Broome workers cleaning pearlshell need something effective to use on nicks and scratches and the effects of salt water.

How was it developed?

One day in the Luscious Ladies’ Lab Ali was truly inspired by the beautiful ingredients surrounding her: the mix of local boab and gubinge (Kakadu plum) oils so rich in vitamin C and long-term anti-wrinkle use by indigenous women, the Vitamins C ,B and E in the fridge, the amazing forms of hyaluronic acid now available to replenish what occurs naturally in younger skin, the olive squalane so like skin sebum, allantoin (an ancient skin soother from comfrey), aloe juice, beautiful pure rosewater hydrosol and the soothing healing extracts of calendula and chamomile, our wonderful orange Co-enzyme Q10, and the best essential oils for skin.

“Let’s just put all these best-of-the-best ingredients for anti-aging facial skin care together in a Super Serum!”

And so it was born.

We couldn’t believe the name hadn’t been widely used already. And we tested widely (on ourselves, human animals only!), with fabulous results.  A word on hyaluronic – it occurs naturally in healthy skin but is produced more slowly as we age, and it holds over 1000 times its weight in moisture, so you can just imagine the hydration effect it provides. A squirt or two after cleansing in the morning seems to keep skin soft, moist, hydrated all day long!

We have reformulated the Super Serum with all the same wonderful active ingredients but a different emulsifying/gelling system to make it more stable in hot weather. The gellant we were using was a sophisticated one from the cooler northern hemisphere and just wasnt coping over time - separation began to occur, and could be repaired by shaking the container but was still not good enough in our view. So we have dropped this gellant and reformulated with a super mild natural emulsifier (cetearyl olivate + sorbitan olivate) with natural xanthan gum. We think it's much better.  Let us know!

Active Ingredients:

Pure rosa damascena hydrosol (cooling, mildly astringent and suitable for dry, mature, sensitive and devitalised skin),

Vitamins B,C & E, Kimberley cold pressed Boab oil (reputed by Kimberley locals to diminish wrinkles)

Hyaluronic acid (the most effective natural humectant known, which holds 1000 times its weight in water!) We use a liquid multiplex version which contains all molecular weights from low to very high, so the effects include deep rehydration (low) to dense invisible protective film forming (high).

Olive squalane (closest to natural skin sebum)

Gubinge in jojoba oil (high Vitamin C and penetration aiding jojoba)

How to use the Rejuvenate range

1) Cleanser

One pump will dispense an adequate amount for cleansing.  Apply to dry or slightly damp face and gently massage in. Add water to create a softening, mildly lathering effect, then rinse clean. Alternatively, remove with cotton pad or tissue. Remember not to drag skin.

2) Toning Treatment Serum

Use one pump only – do not over apply. Rub between clean hands and smear thin layer over face and neck. Allow to dry before applying moisturiser.

3) Moisturiser

Only a tiny amount is needed of this rich, packed full of goodies cream – apply according to the level of dryness or humidity and the condition of skin. Generally a thin layer is adequate. Apply to entire face, being careful to pat around eye area and avoid drag.

4) Facial Exfoliant

Use this instead of cleanser as required to remove dry surface cells. For very dry and sensitive skin, weekly may be sufficient. Exfoliating action is created with gentle jojoba beads. Avoid vigorous rubbing. Rinse clean.

Our radical solution to combat the plague proportions of mozzies which can make life difficult in the Kimberley from February to May, at the end of the Wet and, of course, for similar conditions throughout Australia at various times. We wanted a large quantity natural but effective Pestoff trigger spray which can be kept at the front door and easily applied all over whenever gardening, building and other outdoor activities are sabotaged by clouds of mozzies. So here it is:

An all-natural herbal, neem and essential oil spray concentrate to discourage bites, in tropical strength. And feedback is unanimous that it works! The critters buzz around, but won't land on sprayed skin. We made a concentrate in a 100ml glass bottle which can easily be sent by mail order. You don't pay the freight for water. This concentrate makes up 500ml of spray. You can either purchase the empty good quality trigger spray bottle from us or buy your own from a hardware or gardening store.

Simply pour the 100ml concentrate into your 500ml bottle, top up with water, shake well and use. If your bottle holds less, use 1 part concentrate to every 4 parts water (eg. 20ml or 1 tablespoon concentrate plus 80ml water for a 100ml bottle).

Our highly successful Pestoff Concentrate made into a smaller 125ml spray version for normal use or a 500ml trigger spray for heavy use requirements. 

A completely natural herbal spray designed to deter insects. It contains no DEET but has 3 active ingredient types - a local plant extract used traditionally to deter insects, neem oil (a natural insecticide) and proven insect deterring essential oils. It works perfectly well if used properly - it needs to be applied to all exposed skin and re-applied every 2 - 3 hours.

Use sparingly on children under 3 years as this spray contains 3% essential oils.  Some customers have told us anecdotally that Pestoff works if diluted again by half, so we suggest trying this on young children. As for all skin care products, patch test on the inner wrist first. Always cover up physically (eg. with muslin over a pram) if you can. Another idea is to use a thick layer of coconut oil (or a mineral oil which stays on the surface) on exposed skin so insects can't get a purchase on skin.

With odour eating coffee & pure essential oils of vetiver, petigrain, orange, cinnamon & nutmeg with yummy vanilla & Turkish mocha fragrant oil. A dark coffee brown. 

Handmade using the traditional cold pressed method with each bar having a 3 - 4 week curing time which results in a mild & gentle & long lasting soap bar. Gentle enough for sensitive skin.
